The craft

Every vase carries a painter's hand.

Painted ceramics have dressed tables and mantels for centuries. The parlor vases of the 1800s, with their scrolled handles, gilt rims and climbing flowers, were made to be passed down, not put away.

We look for pieces that keep that tradition alive. The flowers you see are painted with a fine brush, one stroke at a time, then fired so the colour becomes part of the glaze.

  1. 01
    Shaped and fired

Each vase is formed, dried and fired before it ever meets a brush. Handles and rims are finished by hand.

  2. 02
    Painted by hand

Lilies, vines and florals are painted freehand with fine brushes, then fired again so the design becomes part of the glaze.

  3. 03
    Gilded and chosen

Gold accents go on last. We check every piece before it is packed by hand and shipped to your door.

Because every piece is painted by hand, small changes in line and colour are part of its character, not flaws.
